Forensic medicine is the branch of medicine that applies medical knowledge and facts to legal matters, particularly in the investigation and administration of justice. It is also called legal medicine or medical jurisprudence.

It includes medical examination and interpretation of injuries, deaths, poisoning, sexual offences, identification, and other issues that may be presented before a court. Forensic medicine overview
