The body uses the lymphoid system so that lymphocytes can meet antigens. This is where adaptive immune responses start.
The organs of the lymphoid system are divided into two types:

1. Primary (Central) Lymphoid Organs

  • These are where B- and T-lymphocytes are born and mature from lymphoid stem cells
