Drotaverine (often sold as Drotin or No-Spa) is an antispasmodic medicine. It relaxes smooth muscle, helping relieve cramp-like pain from spasms, commonly in the stomach/intestine, biliary tract, urinary tract, or menstrual cramps.

It is a selective phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor and, unlike some older antispasmodics, does not have anticholinergic effects. Yamada's Textbook of Gastroenterology lists it under antispasmodics and notes this mechanism.

Common side effects can include nausea, dizziness, headache, palpitations, flushing, or low blood pressure. Avoid driving if it makes you dizzy.

Do not self-treat severe or unexplained abdominal pain. Seek urgent assessment for pain with fever, repeated vomiting, a rigid abdomen, fainting, blood in vomit/stool/urine, jaundice, or pregnancy-related pain/bleeding.
