Park's textbook preventive social medicine latest edition Kuppuswamy socioeconomic status scale updated 2019

Here's the original Kuppuswamy's Socio-Economic Status Scale exactly as reproduced in Park's Textbook of Preventive and Social Medicine (Table 2, under "Socio-economic status scale"). Park's presents Kuppuswamy's scale in its modified-for-2007 form (income re-based on the All India Average Consumer Price Index, 2001 base year) - and notably, this is still the version carried in the current/latest editions of Park's (a point that has itself drawn academic criticism for being outdated, since a further 2019 revision by other authors exists outside Park's).

Note on "latest": Park's textbook (even in its current printings) continues to reproduce this 2007-modified version rather than the further-revised 2019 scale (Kumar et al., or the online Kuppuswamy calculator versions with new income brackets and an added "possessions" component). There's a published critique specifically flagging that the latest edition of Park's still uses this older table without updating income brackets for current inflation - so if you need income cut-offs adjusted for the present year, you'd need to apply the CPI-linked correction formula (Sharma R, 2012/2019 revision) separately, since Park's itself hasn't updated the table.
