Note (CDC 2025): For infants born to HBsAg-negative mothers, birth-dose timing is now subject to shared clinical decision-making between parents and provider. For infants born to HBsAg-positive or unknown-status mothers, the birth dose (within 24 hours) + HBIG remains unchanged.
