A total of 35 Whipple specimens were analysed over the last 5.5 years. Out of the 36 specimens, 20 were periampullary tumor, 11 were ampullary and 4 involved both mixed site. Amongst the periampullary tumors, the most common histological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma, pancreatobiliary type. The most common diagnosis in ampullary tumors was adenocarcinoma, pancreatobilary followed by intestinal types. The most common precursor lesions encountered were- adenoma, tubulovillous and intestital type, high grade dysplasia and intra-ampullary papillary neoplasm.
