Here's what both tablets are for:

1. DAZIT — Desloratadine 5 mg

An antihistamine (anti-allergy tablet)
Desloratadine is a second-generation, non-sedating H1 antihistamine. It works by blocking histamine receptors to reduce allergic symptoms.
Used for:
  • Allergic rhinitis (hay fever, dust allergy) — sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes
  • Urticaria (hives) and skin itching
  • Seasonal and perennial allergies
Key advantage: Unlike older antihistamines (e.g., chlorpheniramine), it causes little to no drowsiness.

2. GUDCEF-CV 200 — Cefpodoxime 200 mg + Clavulanate 125 mg

An antibiotic combination tablet
  • Cefpodoxime proxetil is a 3rd-generation oral cephalosporin — it kills bacteria by disrupting their cell wall synthesis. It has broad gram-negative coverage and is effective against β-lactamase-producing organisms.
  • Potassium clavulanate is a β-lactamase inhibitor — it protects the antibiotic from being broken down by resistant bacteria.
Used for:
  • Respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis)
  • Ear infections (otitis media)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Gonorrhea

In summary: These two are commonly prescribed together — the antibiotic (Gudcef-CV) treats a bacterial infection, while the antihistamine (Dazit) controls allergic symptoms such as nasal congestion or itching that often accompany upper respiratory infections.
⚠️ Both are prescription-only (Schedule H) drugs in India. Take them exactly as directed by your doctor.
