Do not start any antibiotic from this list on your own: Augmentin 625, Oflox-OZ, or Zifi 200. They will not usually help a viral cold, allergy, postnasal drip, or reflux, and can cause side effects and antibiotic resistance.
For a mild throat irritation with occasional mucus/cough and no fever or significant pain, you may not need a medicine. Try warm fluids, steam/humidified air, saline nasal rinse or gargles with warm salt water, and avoid smoke/spicy late meals.
From what you have:
- Dolo-650: Only if you have throat pain, body ache, or fever. Follow the pack or clinician's directions. Do not combine it with Ultracet or Sinarest without checking labels because they may also contain paracetamol/acetaminophen.
- Levocetirizine: May help if this feels like an allergy or postnasal drip, such as sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, or runny nose. It can make you sleepy, so avoid alcohol and driving.
- Montair-LC: Do not start it just for this symptom unless it was previously prescribed to you for allergy/asthma. It contains montelukast, which has important mood and sleep-related warnings.
- Pan-D: Not a first choice for mucus in the throat. Only use if a doctor has advised it for reflux symptoms such as heartburn, sour taste, or symptoms after meals/lying down.
- Ultracet: Avoid for this. It contains tramadol plus paracetamol and is for more significant pain, with sedation and dependence risks.
- Sinarest: Avoid using it casually or alongside Dolo/Ultracet because combination cold medicines can duplicate ingredients and cause drowsiness.
