best cross-sectional anatomy reference MRI radiology e-Anatomy Weir imaging atlas

Best overall for MRI and radiology anatomy: IMAIOS e-Anatomy. It is the most practical day-to-day reference because it provides labeled, scrollable CT and MRI cross-sectional studies across brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and musculoskeletal regions. The e-Anatomy atlas integrates imaging planes and anatomy particularly well.
Best complementary print resources:
  1. Weir & Abrahams' Imaging Atlas of Human Anatomy
Best single book for correlating conventional anatomy with radiographs, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The medical library includes Imaging Anatomy Text and Atlas: Bones, Joints, Vessels and Nerves.
  2. Atlas of Normal Radiographic Anatomy by Moeller and Reif
Strong for plain-film anatomy and systematic image interpretation.
  3. MRI Atlas of the Musculoskeletal System by Stoller
Best focused reference for MSK MRI, especially joints, ligaments, tendons, cartilage, and sports injuries.
  4. The Radiology Assistant
Excellent free online learning companion for imaging patterns and anatomy, but not as complete as e-Anatomy for pure labeled cross-sectional anatomy.
If buying only one: choose Weir & Abrahams for a physical book, or an e-Anatomy subscription if you read scans regularly.

free MRI cross-sectional anatomy atlas Radiopaedia IMAIOS e-Anatomy free access

For a free, legal MRI/radiology anatomy reference, use:
  • Radiopaedia: free normal anatomy articles and imaging cases. Best free overall learning site.
    https://radiopaedia.org
  • IMAIOS e-Anatomy: some modules and previews are freely viewable, but full labeled atlas access is paid. Their axial brain MRI atlas is a useful starting point.
  • The Radiology Assistant: free, high-quality teaching articles, especially neuro, chest, MSK, and abdominal imaging.
    https://radiologyassistant.nl
  • University/hospital teaching-file sites: search “normal MRI anatomy” plus the body part, such as “normal knee MRI anatomy” or “brain MRI anatomy.”
Do not use pirated PDF or “mod” versions of e-Anatomy or textbooks. For a fully free study setup, combine Radiopaedia + The Radiology Assistant, then use available e-Anatomy previews for labeled slice anatomy.
