Child 5 year old Subacute intestinal obstruction 3 months with contipation of 4 days link with anemia in sibling history of pica in early childhood and mild URTi once in two months (may be seasonal acc to mother but audible resp sounds present) and one week jaundice history noticed by mother No positive neonatal period history Sibling 1.5 years old hb 6 non transfusion dependent but on regular medication also has diarrhoea Other points of history Child’s father was a drug addict iv drug user Siblings father is different same mother Parents also claim the child (girl) used to drink and eat excessively as a habit before the period of obstruction
