Yes, this Venusia Sun Tint SPF 115 is generally a reasonable sunscreen to use during pregnancy, including for acne-prone skin.
  • It is marketed as non-comedogenic, lightweight, and matte, so it is less likely to clog pores than heavier creams.
  • The listing says it is free of oxybenzone and avobenzone, and the visible ingredients, tomato colourless carotenoids 1.5%, are not a pregnancy concern.
  • Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended in pregnancy, particularly to reduce worsening pigmentation and melasma. Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology, p. 3657 notes that sunscreen use in pregnancy is recommended and has reassuring toxicology and teratogenicity data.
Two cautions:
  1. I cannot confirm the complete UV-filter ingredient list from this screenshot alone. Check the tube/outer box. If you want the most conservative pregnancy option, choose a sunscreen based on zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide.
  2. “Non-comedogenic” is helpful but not a guarantee. Try it on a small cheek/jaw area for 3-4 days first. Stop if you get new clusters of bumps, burning, itching, or a rash.
Use about two finger lengths for face and neck, apply as the final morning skincare step, and reapply every 2-3 hours when outdoors. A photo of the back ingredient label would let me check the exact formula.

pregnancy sunscreen octinoxate octocrylene homosalate ethylhexyl salicylate recommendations

Thanks, the ingredient list changes my recommendation.
I would choose a different sunscreen during pregnancy if you can. This is a hybrid sunscreen, not mineral-only. It does contain pregnancy-friendly mineral filters, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, but it also contains chemical UV filters:
  • Octinoxate (octyl methoxycinnamate)
  • Octocrylene
  • Homosalate
  • Ethylhexyl salicylate (octisalate)
  • Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate
The concern is mainly octinoxate. Evidence does not prove that normal sunscreen use harms a pregnancy, and sun protection remains important. But because some chemical filters can be systemically absorbed and there are unresolved hormone-related concerns, a recent review advises avoiding octinoxate during pregnancy as a precaution. See the pregnancy photoprotection review. Standard dermatology text also recommends sunscreen during pregnancy to help prevent melasma and UV-related pigmentation, Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology, p. 3657.
For acne-prone skin, the silicone base is often well tolerated, but this formula has fragrance, jojoba oil, and stearic acid, which may irritate sensitive skin or cause breakouts in some people. It also contains iron oxides, which are useful for visible-light protection and pigmentation, but the overall formula would not be my first choice for pregnancy acne.
What to choose instead: a fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, tinted mineral sunscreen whose only UV filters are zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. Tinted mineral options with iron oxides are especially useful if you are prone to pregnancy melasma or acne marks.
If you have already used this product, do not panic or stop worrying about the exposure. Using it a few times is not known to cause harm. I would simply switch to a mineral-only sunscreen for regular use going forward.

pregnancy sunscreen filters

I did check it. The ingredient list confirms that this is not mineral-only.
It contains mineral filters:
  • Zinc oxide
  • Titanium dioxide
But it also contains chemical filters:
  • Octinoxate (octyl methoxycinnamate)
  • Octocrylene
  • Homosalate
  • Octisalate (ethylhexyl salicylate)
  • Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate
So my answer is: it is not the sunscreen I would pick as the first-choice daily option during pregnancy, especially because it contains octinoxate plus fragrance. The American Academy of Dermatology advises choosing a physical sunscreen containing zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide during pregnancy, preferably fragrance-free for sensitive or acne-prone skin. See the AAD pregnancy skincare guidance.
That said, do not worry if you have already used it. There is no evidence that a few applications cause harm. This is a precautionary choice, not an emergency.
For your pregnancy acne-prone skin, look for:
  • Only zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide in active filters
  • Fragrance-free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Tinted with iron oxides if you have acne marks or melasma tendency
The iron oxides in this product are actually beneficial for pigmentation, but a tinted mineral-only sunscreen would give you that benefit with a simpler pregnancy-friendly filter profile.

pregnancy AND sunscreen filters

Solasafe Tinted SPF 50 is also not mineral-only. Its ingredient list includes ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, also called octinoxate, alongside zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
So, by the cautious pregnancy approach we discussed, I would not switch from Venusia to Solasafe expecting it to be a pregnancy-safe mineral alternative. Both contain octinoxate.
For acne-prone pregnancy skin, look for a tinted sunscreen where the only sunscreen filters listed are:
  • Zinc oxide
  • Titanium dioxide
Preferably also:
  • fragrance-free
  • non-comedogenic
  • iron oxides for tint and protection against visible-light pigmentation
Solasafe may still suit some acne-prone people cosmetically, but it is a hybrid chemical-mineral formula, not the mineral-only option you are looking for.

At 19 weeks, choose a tinted sunscreen with only zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide as UV filters. Do not rely on claims like “mineral-based” or “pregnancy safe”, always check the active filters.

Best practical choices

  1. Heliocare 360 Mineral Tolerance Fluid SPF 50+
    • Tinted, mineral-only filters: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide
    • Fragrance-free and non-comedogenic
    • A good option if you are acne-prone or sensitive
    • Usually a light universal tint, so check whether it matches your skin tone.
  2. EltaMD UV Physical Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 41
    • Mineral-only: zinc oxide + titanium dioxide
    • Tinted with iron oxides, useful for pregnancy melasma and acne marks
    • Made for sensitive and acne-prone skin
    • More expensive and availability in India varies.
  3. ISDIN Eryfotona Ageless Tinted SPF 50
    • Zinc oxide-based mineral sunscreen with tint
    • Good lightweight option if available from an authorized retailer.
  4. La Shield Fisico Tinted Sunscreen
    • Consider this only if the box lists zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as the only UV filters. Formulas can change by version, so please send the ingredient photo before buying and I will verify it.
Avoid these for your mineral-only pregnancy choice: Venusia Tint, Solasafe Tinted, UV Doux Blue Light Tinted, because they contain octinoxate or other chemical UV filters.
For acne-prone skin, my first pick would be Heliocare 360 Mineral Tolerance Fluid SPF 50+ if its tint suits you. It best fits your request: tinted, mineral-only, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic.
Use two finger lengths over the face and neck each morning, then reapply every 2 hours if outdoors. The American Academy of Dermatology advises physical sunscreens with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide during pregnancy, as described in its pregnancy skincare guidance.

For pregnancy and acne-prone skin in India, these are better tinted mineral-only options. Check that the pack lists only zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide as UV filters before purchasing, as formulas can change.
  1. Brinton UV Doux Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++
    • My first pick for you
    • Tinted, oil-free, matte, non-comedogenic, and unscented
    • Its UV filter is zinc oxide and tint comes from iron oxides
    • Be careful to buy the “Tinted Mineral” version, not UV Doux Blue Light Tinted, which contains octinoxate.
  2. Qurez Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++
    • Uses non-nano zinc oxide + titanium dioxide
    • Tinted and generally a good budget-friendly mineral option
    • May feel a little richer than UV Doux, so patch-test if your acne flares easily.
  3. Ceuticoz Clear Zinc Tinted Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ PA++++
    • Zinc oxide-based tinted sunscreen
    • A suitable option if your skin is sensitive or reactive
    • It comes in shades such as Ivory, so choose according to your complexion.
  4. Brinton UV Doux Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++
    • The untinted version if you cannot find a tint match
    • Mineral-only, oil-free, and suited to oily/acne-prone skin.
Best one to try first: Brinton UV Doux Tinted Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++.
Avoid the similarly named UV Doux Blue Light Tinted product and the earlier Venusia/Solasafe options, as those use octinoxate or other organic filters. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends physical sunscreen with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide during pregnancy.
Use two finger lengths for face plus neck every morning. If outdoors, reapply every 2 hours.
