Seek emergency care now if the person has any of these after the extra telmisartan dose:
- Fainting, collapse, or cannot stay awake
- Severe or worsening dizziness, especially when sitting or standing
- Confusion, unusual drowsiness, or difficulty speaking
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, blue/gray lips, or severe sweating
- Very weak, unable to walk safely, or repeated falls
- Palpitations with feeling unwell, a very slow pulse, or a very fast/irregular heartbeat
- Little or no urine, especially with weakness, swelling, vomiting, or diarrhea
- A blood-pressure reading below 90/60 mmHg with symptoms, or any low reading with faintness or confusion

- Have him lie flat now with legs raised slightly. Do not let him stand, walk alone, drive, or take a hot shower.

Do this now:
- Sit or lie down. Do not drive or walk without support.
- Check his blood pressure and pulse if possible, after resting 5 minutes.
- Drink some water if he is not on a doctor-ordered fluid restriction and is able to swallow normally.
- Do not take an extra or double dose to make up for the missed morning tablet.
- For the missed dose: if it is not close to the time of his next scheduled dose, a pharmacist or his prescriber can advise whether to take it now. If it is close to the next dose, usually skip the missed dose and resume the usual schedule. Do not use dizziness alone as a reason to take it.
Emergency care now if dizziness is severe, he faints, has weakness/numbness on one side, face drooping, trouble speaking, new severe headache, chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, or cannot walk safely. These can indicate a problem other than blood-pressure medicine.
