Pcm 250mg/5ml 16 kg how much ml

For paracetamol (PCM) 250mg/5ml, the standard dose is 15 mg/kg.
For a 16 kg child:
  • Dose = 16 × 15 = 240 mg
  • Volume = 240 ÷ 250 × 5 = 4.8 ml
Give 4.8 ml per dose, every 4-6 hours as needed. Maximum 4-5 doses in 24 hours.
Standard range is 10-15 mg/kg/dose. At 15 mg/kg: 4.8 ml. At 10 mg/kg: 3.2 ml. Most clinicians use the 15 mg/kg dose for adequate antipyresis/analgesia.
