Clinical Context

This injury pattern - an isolated displaced radial shaft fracture in a young adult - fits a Galeazzi fracture variant (radial shaft fracture + DRUJ disruption). These are inherently unstable and almost always require surgical fixation. The second image shows the patient has undergone intramedullary nailing of the radius, which is one accepted fixation method (plate and screw ORIF is also commonly used).
