caustic ingestion AND management

Yes, it can cause harm. Do not drink any more.
If you swallowed about 10 drops of a diluted household bleach/powder solution and you are awake and can swallow normally:
  • Rinse your mouth with water.
  • Sip a small amount of plain water.
  • Do not make yourself vomit.
  • Do not try to neutralize it with vinegar, lemon, or other chemicals.
  • Call your local poison-control service now for advice based on the exact product, concentration, and your age/weight. In the US, call 1-800-222-1222. Elsewhere, call your local emergency/poison number or go to an emergency department.
Get emergency help immediately if you have mouth/throat burning, repeated vomiting, drooling, trouble swallowing, chest or abdominal pain, coughing/choking, difficulty breathing, confusion, or if it was a concentrated/industrial product. Household bleach is often dilute and small accidental swallows may cause irritation, but concentrated products can cause serious burns. Poison Control guidance
If this was intentional or you feel at risk of drinking more, please call emergency services or a crisis line now and move away from the product.
