If there is trouble breathing, collapse, seizure, severe drowsiness, persistent vomiting, severe mouth/throat pain, or inability to swallow: call emergency services immediately.
Do now
Remove any remaining material from the mouth and rinse the mouth with water.
If fully awake, able to swallow, and not vomiting, give a few sips of water.
Do not induce vomiting.
Do not give anything by mouth if drowsy, confused, having seizures, choking, or vomiting.
Keep the container, label, or a photo of it for poison control/ER. They need the exact product, concentration, amount, time, age, weight, and symptoms.
One teaspoon is about 5 mL. Many small accidental exposures cause irritation, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, but concentrated glyphosate herbicide formulations can cause serious toxicity, partly from other ingredients. A child, intentional ingestion, unknown amount, or any symptoms warrants urgent medical assessment.
The product-label first aid guidance is to contact Poison Control or a clinician, sip water only if able to swallow, and not induce vomiting, as reflected in this EPA product label.
