- High-risk obstetrics or MFM interest: Add Creasy & Resnik.
- Practising clinician: Berek & Novak 17th edition plus continuously updated guidelines.
The currently listed 17th edition of Berek & Novak’s Gynecology is a 2026 release, making it the best choice if by “new vision” you mean the newest major gynecology textbook. Tulane’s OBGYN library listing identifies it as 2026. For obstetrics, Williams Obstetrics 26th edition remains a leading comprehensive reference.
For new diagnostic and treatment methods
No textbook stays fully current in rapidly changing areas. Pair books with current professional guidance for:
- First-trimester and detailed fetal ultrasound
- Cell-free DNA screening and prenatal genetics
- Fetal MRI and invasive prenatal diagnosis
- Laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and robotic gynecologic surgery
- Fertility preservation and assisted reproduction
