NHS low blood pressure hypotension symptoms urgent advice

Low blood pressure is usually considered below 90/60 mmHg, but some people naturally run low and feel completely well. It matters most if you have symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, weakness, nausea, confusion, or falls. The NHS guidance advises medical assessment if these symptoms keep happening.
Get urgent medical help now if low BP comes with fainting, chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, cold/clammy skin, severe weakness, heavy bleeding, black stools, or you cannot stay awake.
If you feel dizzy right now:
  • Sit or lie down immediately and raise your legs.
  • Drink water if you can safely swallow.
  • Stand up slowly when symptoms pass. Do not drive or climb stairs while dizzy.
Because you say it is always low, arrange a clinician visit soon for repeated BP checks, including lying and standing readings. Causes can include dehydration, anemia, medication effects, hormonal conditions, heart rhythm problems, or simply a normal low baseline. Do not stop BP, heart, or other prescribed medicines on your own.
Please tell me:
  1. Your usual BP numbers, such as 85/55
  2. Whether you get dizziness or fainting, especially on standing
  3. Your age and any medicines you take
