NBEMS doesn't publish the FMGE paper or an official answer key, so I can't give you the real October 2026 paper. The exam was held on 31 October 2026, and the only versions online are unofficial, student-recalled questions. I found only five recalled questions with enough detail to list. I couldn't see their exact options, so the answers below are the concepts they tested.

Recalled questions (31 Oct 2026)

1. Medicine: ABG interpretation (metabolic acidosis)
  • The stem and values weren't visible to me.
  • Approach: low pH and low HCO3 mean metabolic acidosis. Calculate the anion gap (Na − Cl − HCO3, normal about 8 to 12). A high gap points to lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis, uremia or toxins. A normal gap points to diarrhea or renal tubular acidosis.
  • Then check compensation with Winter's formula: expected pCO2 = 1.5 × HCO3 + 8 (± 2).
2. Pharmacology: mechanism of calcium channel blocker (CCB) pedal edema
  • Answer: dihydropyridines such as amlodipine and nifedipine dilate arterioles more than veins.
  • This raises capillary hydrostatic pressure, so fluid moves into the interstitium.
  • It is not caused by sodium or water retention or by heart failure, so diuretics work poorly. An ACE inhibitor or ARB added to the CCB reduces it.
3. Pediatrics: folic acid dose for ages 5 to 9 years
  • I'm fairly confident this refers to India's Anemia Mukt Bharat schedule: the weekly pink IFA tablet with 45 mg elemental iron and 400 mcg folic acid.
  • The 10 to 19 year group gets the blue tablet (60 mg iron and 500 mcg folic acid).
  • I haven't checked this against the video's keyed answer, so confirm it against the current guideline.
4. Ophthalmology: galactosemia
  • Answer: oil droplet cataract.
  • Galactitol builds up through aldose reductase and causes lens osmotic damage.
  • Treatment is a galactose-free diet.
5. OBG/Surgery: condyloma acuminata management
  • The stem wasn't visible to me.
  • Usual first-line options are topical podophyllotoxin, imiquimod or sinecatechins (self-applied). Clinic-based options are trichloroacetic acid, cryotherapy or excision.
  • In pregnancy, avoid podophyllin, podophyllotoxin and imiquimod. Use trichloroacetic acid, cryotherapy or surgical removal instead.

What reviewers said about the paper

  • The paper had image-based questions in radiology, ENT and dermatology.
  • Candidates reported no video-based questions.
  • It leaned on core clinical knowledge, such as specific monoclonal antibodies and exact doses.
  • The pass mark is 150 out of 300, with no negative marking.

Where to find more recalled questions

These are student-recalled and unofficial. The recalls and answers can contain errors.
The Careers360 FMGE page lists previous-year papers and analysis, and says solutions will be added.
If you tell me the subject (for example Medicine, Pharmacology or OBG), I can write a practice set of high-yield MCQs in the FMGE style with answers and explanations.
