Hepatitis B should be given IM, not in the buttock. MMR and varicella are live attenuated vaccines and are conventionally given SC. The CDC administration guidance lists HepB as IM and MMR/varicella as SC.

Key cautions
- MMR and varicella are live vaccines. Do not give during pregnancy or to people with severe immunosuppression.
- Hepatitis B vaccination is routinely recommended for adults aged 19 to 59 years, and for adults 60 years or older with risk factors or who want protection.
- Exact HepB volume can differ by brand and special situations such as dialysis, so use the product insert/local immunization protocol.
The current CDC adult schedule confirms that HepB schedules vary by product, MMR requires 1 or 2 doses depending on indication, and varicella is a 2-dose series.
