According to dr ntruhs university question paper for final year mbbs subjects

I can see the image shows a prompt asking to analyze a question paper to identify patterns, predict topics, and prioritize them by probability. However, I don't see an actual question paper attached - only the instruction text.
Asking for Preferences

Which Final Year MBBS subject's question paper do you want me to analyze? · Have you uploaded the actual question paper? I only see the instruction text in the image - please share the question paper itself.

Please go ahead and upload all the question papers (photos or PDFs) for General Medicine - NTR University Final Year MBBS.
Once you share them, I will:
  1. Extract all questions from each paper year-wise
  2. Identify repeating topics and how often each appears
  3. Map examiner preferences - long essays vs. short notes vs. clinical scenarios
  4. Predict high/medium/low probability topics for your next exam
  5. Flag commonly ignored but high-value areas
Please upload the papers now (you can share multiple images or a PDF).

STEP 3: KEY PATTERN OBSERVATIONS

1. Essay Pattern (2 essays per paper, 15 marks each)
  • One essay is ALWAYS a clinical case scenario (patient with symptoms, lab values given - diagnose + discuss)
  • Second essay is usually a direct topic essay (sometimes also clinical)
  • Essay topics rotate across: Metabolic/Endocrine - Renal - Haematology - Infections
  • FUO/PUO appeared as essay TWICE in a row (Apr 2024 and Dec 2024) - rare but notable
2. Short Note Patterns
  • Ethics question ALWAYS present at Q12 position - this is a fixed slot
  • Poisoning is almost always present (Paracetamol 2x, OP poisoning 1x)
  • DIC appears in nearly every paper
  • Haematology (one topic per paper) is consistent
  • Nephrology (one short note per paper) is consistent
3. Question Style Shift
  • Moving from direct-definition questions toward clinical case-based essays (trend since 2023)
  • Short notes remain straightforward but occasionally case-linked (pain, fever in older adults)
  • Pharmacology sneaks in as short notes (thyroxine, antithyroid, insulin analogues, opioids, immunosuppressants)

STEP 4: PREDICTED TOPICS FOR NEXT EXAM

ESSAY QUESTIONS (2 x 15 = 30 marks)

Predicted EssayBasis
1. Clinical case on Heart Failure OR Ischemic Heart Disease / ACSNot asked in 3 papers - cardiology is overdue as an essay. Cardiovascular is a major system conspicuously absent from essays. HIGH probability
2. Tuberculosis OR Community-acquired Pneumonia (Clinical case)Respiratory system entirely absent from essays across all 3 papers. Infections are a recurring theme (FUO asked 2x). Very likely next
Alternative essays if the above shift:
  • Liver cirrhosis + complications (portal hypertension, ascites, hepatic encephalopathy) - liver has been appearing in short notes
  • Diabetes Mellitus complications or Thyroid disorders (endocrine rotation)

STEP 5: PRIORITIZED TOPIC LIST

🔴 HIGH PROBABILITY (Must Prepare - Very Likely to Appear)

TopicExpected FormatReason
Heart Failure / Ischemic Heart Disease / ACSEssay (clinical case)Cardiology completely absent - overdue
Pulmonary TuberculosisEssay or Short noteInfections theme + not asked yet
Community Acquired PneumoniaEssay or Short noteRespiratory system absent
DICShort noteAppeared 2 out of 3 papers
Paracetamol poisoningShort noteAppeared 2 out of 3 papers
Ethics / Medico-legal (any form)Short note at Q12100% consistent across all papers
Nephrology (Glomerulonephritis / Nephrotic vs Nephritic)Short noteAppeared every paper in some form
Haematology (Iron deficiency anaemia OR Thalassemia)Short noteHaematology topic every paper
Diabetes Mellitus (complications / HHS)Short noteDM appeared twice already

🟡 MEDIUM PROBABILITY (High value - prepare thoroughly)

TopicExpected FormatReason
Liver Cirrhosis + Portal hypertensionShort note or EssayLiver appearing repeatedly
Thyroid disorders (Hypothyroidism / Hyperthyroidism)Short noteAntithyroid drugs asked, full disease likely next
Rheumatoid Arthritis or SLEShort noteAutoimmune barely touched
Stroke / Cerebrovascular AccidentEssay or Short noteNeurology absent from all 3 papers
Infectious Endocarditis / SepsisShort noteInfectious trend continues
Acute Kidney InjuryShort noteCKD done, AKI not yet
Meningitis / CNS infectionsShort noteCNS infections not covered
Anemia (Iron deficiency / Aplastic)Short noteHaematology rotation
COPD / Bronchial AsthmaShort noteRespiratory system untouched
Jaundice / HepatitisShort noteLiver theme continues

🟢 LOW PROBABILITY (But don't ignore)

TopicFormatReason
FUO/PUOShort noteAsked 2x as essay - unlikely as essay again, possible short note
Sickle cell anaemiaShort noteAsked 2x - unlikely again soon
CKDShort note onlyJust asked as essay
DKAVery lowJust asked
Budd-Chiari / rare liver syndromesLowJust asked
ProbioticsVery lowJust asked, uncommon topic

STEP 6: COMMONLY IGNORED BUT HIGH-VALUE AREAS

These topics are asked but students often skip them:
  1. Medico-legal/Ethics - Q12 is FIXED. Always a 5-mark short note. Easy marks if prepared. Topics rotate: breach of confidence, organ donation, physician as communicator, informed consent, euthanasia, medical negligence.
  2. Pharmacology-embedded short notes - Thyroxine pharmacology, insulin analogues, opioid analgesics, immunosuppressants were all asked. Examiner uses short notes to test pharmacology without it being a separate paper.
  3. Pain management - Asked in 2 consecutive papers in different forms (neuropathic pain in Dec 2023, pain assessment in April 2024). Analgesia ladder, WHO pain ladder, opioid risks.
  4. Clinical differentials in diarrhoea - Small vs large bowel asked. Upper GI vs lower GI bleeding pattern likely next.
  5. Frostbite / Environmental medicine - Seemingly obscure but appeared. Don't ignore: heat stroke, drowning, electric shock, altitude sickness.
  6. Probiotics / Newer therapeutics - Shows examiner interest in current clinical practice, not just classical medicine.

SUMMARY QUICK CARD

ESSAY PREDICTIONS (prepare both as 15-mark answers):
→ Heart Failure / ACS (clinical case)
  → TB / CAP / Respiratory infection

SURE SHORT NOTES (prepare all):
  → DIC
  → Paracetamol poisoning
→ One ethics question (prepare: informed consent, negligence, euthanasia)
  → Nephrology (AKI or Glomerulonephritis)
→ Haematology (Iron deficiency / Thalassemia / Aplastic anaemia)
→ One pharma topic (RAAS drugs / Steroids / Antibiotics)
  → Stroke / CVA
  → Liver cirrhosis / Ascites
  → COPD or Asthma

Note: These predictions are based on pattern recognition from 3 available papers (Dec 2023, Apr 2024, Dec 2024 - all Paper-I). If you can share Paper-II papers as well, I can give a more complete analysis since some topics may be Paper-II specific. Also, if you have 2022 papers visible on the navigation bar (2022 August, 2022 January), sharing those would strengthen the predictions further.
