Uses
- Dry cough, allergic cough, smoker's cough, whooping cough
- Wet/productive cough with thick mucus
- Cold and allergy symptoms: sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, throat irritation
Dosage
- Take as prescribed by your doctor
- Administer after meals using the measuring cup provided
- Suitable for adults and children (dose varies by age - consult a doctor)
Side Effects
- Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, constipation, blurred vision, fatigue
- Most side effects are temporary and resolve on discontinuation
Contraindications / Cautions
- BPH (prostate enlargement) - diphenhydramine may worsen urinary retention
- Glaucoma - may increase intraocular pressure
- Asthma - may worsen respiratory symptoms
- Hypertension - ammonium chloride may elevate blood pressure
- MAO inhibitors - avoid combination
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding - consult a doctor
- Diabetes - sugar-based formulation; use with caution
- Driving/machinery - causes significant drowsiness; avoid
Drug Interactions
- CNS depressants, sedatives, tranquilizers (additive drowsiness)
- Linezolid, Morphine
- Other antihistamines
