Shoul be given in ns or rl or plan ?
| Fluid | Compatibility | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Saline (NS) 0.9% | ✅ Compatible | Preferred diluent |
| Dextrose 5% (D5W) | ✅ Compatible | Also standard choice |
| Ringer's Lactate (RL) | ⚠️ Generally acceptable but less preferred | Some fat-soluble vitamins (Vit A, E, D3) may interact with electrolytes in RL; NS or D5 is safer |
| Plain / Undiluted IV bolus | ❌ NEVER | Direct IV injection is strictly contraindicated |
| IM injection | ❌ NEVER | Not indicated; contains benzyl alcohol - dangerous IM |
Bottom line: Add to NS 500 mL or D5W 500 mL and infuse slowly. NS is the first choice.
