Home Remedy Mix the following into one bowl/cup of plain curd:
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
A small amount of black tea may also be stirred in. Take this preparation three times a day - it can be quite helpful in easing diarrhoea.

  • ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) - sip frequently throughout the day
  • Coconut water - natural electrolytes, gentle on the stomach
  • Rice water (Kanji) - boil rice in extra water, strain and sip the starchy water
  • Nimbu paani with salt and sugar (lemon water) - a simple homemade ORS
  • Plain dal water - thin, strained water from boiled moong dal
  • Weak black tea (without milk)
Avoid fruit juices, sugary drinks, cold drinks, and milk - these can worsen diarrhoea.
