  • Hormonal axes (HPA, thyroid, reproductive) - endocrine & OBGYN
Pathology
  • Inflammation, wound healing - surgery
  • Cell injury & necrosis types - everywhere
  • Robbins organ-by-organ pathology matches directly to medicine topics
  • Tumour pathology (grading, staging) - surgery & medicine
Pharmacology
  • Drug classes, mechanisms, side effects - you'll be asked this daily on rounds

The Smart Approach

Don't revise preclinicals in isolation. Instead:
When you study a clinical topic, backfill the relevant preclinical as you go.
For example, studying heart failure clinically? Revise cardiac physiology that day. Studying appendicitis? Revise the anatomy and pathology of the appendix. This way it sticks because it has clinical context, and you're not wasting time on things that won't appear.
