Samprapti (Pathogenesis)

Mithyahara + Vihar (improper diet and lifestyle) → Vitiation of Kapha and Pitta Dosha → Involvement of Twak, Rakta, Lasika and Sweda Dushyas → Obstruction in Sweda Vahi Srotas → Disease manifests in Bahya Rogamarga → Presents as Dadru Kushta (Tinea/Ringworm infection) - characterised by circular elevated itchy erythematous lesions on skin (Kshudra Kushta - Bahiparimarjana Chikitsa indicated).

Shad Upakrama (Six Treatment Approaches)

As per Bahiparimarjana (external) Chikitsa:
  1. Langhana - Light diet advised (Pathya)
  2. Pachana - Ama Pachana through Ushna, Tikshna properties of Gandhaka Malahara
  3. Shodhana - Purification of Dushta Kapha-Pitta via Lekhana Guna
  4. Shamana - Balancing Kapha-Pitta by topical Gandhaka Malahara (Tridosha Shamaka)
  5. Snehana - Sikta Taila base acts as Snehana component
  6. Svedana - Active principles penetrate via Sweda Vahi Srotas (Sara, Teekshna Guna)
