nasal/throat swab influenza RT-PCR or other molecular test. Rapid antigen flu tests may be used, but a negative test does not always exclude influenza. The
CDC influenza testing guidance recommends molecular tests such as RT-PCR for higher diagnostic accuracy.
Seek urgent medical care for breathlessness, persistent chest pain, confusion, bluish lips, inability to drink, very low urine output, or worsening fever/cough.
