How to change name on Facebook?

You can change your Facebook name through Settings. Here's how:
On Mobile (iOS/Android):
  1. Tap the menu icon (three lines) > Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. Tap Personal and account information > Name
  3. Edit your first, middle, or last name
  4. Tap Review Change > enter your password > Save Changes
On Desktop (Web):
  1. Click your profile picture (top right) > Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. In the left menu, click Personal and account information > Name
  3. Edit your name fields
  4. Click Review Change > enter your password > Save Changes
Key rules to know:
  • You can only change your name once every 60 days
  • Facebook requires your real name - nicknames, symbols, numbers, and titles are not allowed
  • The change may take a few minutes to appear across the platform
  • If your name was recently changed, the option may be grayed out until the 60-day window passes
If you're having trouble, Facebook may ask you to submit a government ID to verify your name.
