This is a centipede (not technically an insect). Most bites or stings cause immediate pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes tingling, but settle within 1-2 days.

Seek urgent medical care if there is trouble breathing, facial/throat swelling, widespread hives, faintness, rapidly worsening swelling or pain, vomiting, fever, pus, or spreading redness. Children, older adults, and people with significant heart disease should be assessed sooner after a bite.
