What to do

  • Contact the doctor today or within 24 hours, particularly if there is fever, weakness, abdominal pain, vomiting, rash, or any bleeding.
  • The doctor may consider repeating CBC with peripheral smear, platelet count, PT/INR, aPTT, and checking bilirubin, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, kidney tests, and infection-specific tests based on symptoms and local illnesses. Do not self-start vitamin K or antibiotics unless prescribed.
  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, and contact sports until the doctor advises, because platelets are mildly low and PT is prolonged. Paracetamol/acetaminophen is generally preferred for fever when used at the prescribed dose, unless a clinician has advised otherwise.

The priority is to identify and treat the cause of the high CRP, low platelets, and mildly prolonged PT. A clinician may repeat CBC/platelets and PT/INR, review diet and medicines, and assess for infection, vitamin K deficiency, and liver-related causes.
Go to emergency care immediately if there is ongoing nose/gum bleeding, blood in urine/stool/vomit, black stool, severe headache, drowsiness, or worsening illness.
