"BTN Ultra" tablet hair composition

Do not start BTN Ultra as a treatment for hair thinning/falling without finding the cause first.
BTN Ultra is a supplement containing ingredients such as biotin, N-acetylcysteine, zinc, selenium, copper, and calcium pantothenate, according to the product listing. It may help if you genuinely have a nutrient deficiency, but it is not a proven general cure for hair loss. Recent systematic reviews find that supplements have variable and limited benefit unless a relevant deficiency is present, such as iron, vitamin D, zinc, or another nutritional problem (2025 review; 2024 review).
What to do instead:
  • See a dermatologist or clinician, especially if shedding has lasted over 2-3 months.
  • Ask whether you need tests such as CBC, ferritin/iron studies, thyroid function, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and possibly zinc, based on your history.
  • Common causes include recent fever/COVID, stress, weight loss or dieting, low iron, thyroid disease, dandruff/scalp inflammation, PCOS, medications, and hereditary pattern hair loss.
  • For hereditary pattern thinning, treatments such as topical minoxidil are usually more evidence-based, but should be chosen with a clinician.
Avoid self-treating with supplements long-term, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney/liver disease, or take regular medicines. Too much selenium or zinc can itself cause problems, including hair loss. Biotin can also interfere with some blood-test results, including thyroid and cardiac tests.
Get prompt medical review if you have sudden patchy bald spots, scalp redness/scaling/pain, eyebrow loss, or marked hair shedding with fatigue, weight change, or heavy periods.
