Korner septum other name

Körner's septum is also known as the petrosquamous septum (or petrosquamous lamina).
It is a bony plate (remnant of the petrosquamous suture) that divides the mastoid into:
  • Lateral/superficial part - squamous air cells
  • Medial/deep part - petrous air cells
This is confirmed directly from the textbooks already retrieved:
"a bony plate (Körner's petrosquamous septum) of variable prominence" - Shambaugh Surgery of the Ear
"It is composed of a squamous portion (laterally) and a petrous portion (medially) separated by Körner's (petrosquamous) septum" - Shambaugh Surgery of the Ear, Temporal Bone and Skull Base
So the other name = Petrosquamous septum (or petrosquamous lamina)
