3. Yellow-green discoloration - Mixed within the crusting, there are patches of yellowish-green material, which typically indicates dried mucus or purulent (infected) secretions.
4. Nasal hairs (vibrissae) - Normal nasal hairs are visible, though some appear matted and trapped within the dried material.

• Nasal vestibulitis - a localized infection/inflammation at the nasal entrance
• Mucosal dryness, irritation from picking, or rubbing

• Avoid picking or pulling at the crusts - this can restart bleeding or introduce bacteria
