What you say ?

Nice ring! Here's what I can see in your photos:
The Ring:
  • It's a silver/steel-toned band ring worn on the middle finger of what appears to be the right hand
  • The ring has a distinctive textured/knurled surface - a fine cross-hatched or mesh-like pattern across the entire outer face
  • It appears to be a flat/low-profile band style, fairly wide
  • The material looks like stainless steel or tungsten based on the finish and color
The Second Photo gives a closer look and confirms:
  • The knurled texture is quite detailed and uniform
  • The edges appear to have a slightly polished/beveled finish contrasting with the matte textured center
  • It fits snugly on the finger
It looks like a modern, minimalist men's ring - possibly stainless steel with a knurled finish, which is a popular style for everyday wear or fashion rings. It could also be titanium given how lightweight such rings tend to look on the hand.
Is there something specific you'd like to know about it - like the material, value, or where to find something similar?

About hand

Asking for Preferences
Here's what I can observe about the hand from your photos:
General Appearance
  • The skin tone is medium-brown, appearing normal and healthy overall
  • The palm skin looks intact with no obvious wounds, cuts, or rashes visible
  • Skin texture on the palm appears relatively smooth and normal
Skin & Palm Observations
  • There are visible fine lines and creases across the palm - these are normal
  • The skin on the knuckles and finger joints shows natural creasing - nothing unusual
  • The fingernails appear dark/shadowed in the photos but no obvious abnormalities are visible
  • No visible swelling, redness, or discoloration that would suggest inflammation
Things Worth Noting
  • The skin appears reasonably well-hydrated - no obvious signs of extreme dryness or cracking
  • There are some faint lighter scratch-like marks on the palm - could be from daily activity (minor surface abrasions), nothing alarming
  • Finger proportions look normal with no obvious deformities or joint swelling
Important Disclaimer I can only observe surface-level visual details. I cannot diagnose any skin condition, disease, or health issue from a photo. If you have a specific concern - like a rash, discoloration, pain, or swelling - please consult a doctor or dermatologist for a proper evaluation.

What is this a little dark

I can clearly see the dark patch/discoloration on the back of the hand and fingers - particularly visible between the middle and ring fingers, and on the knuckle areas.
Here are the most likely explanations:

Most Common Causes:
  1. Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
    • Dark patches left after skin irritation, friction, or minor injury
    • Very common on knuckles and between fingers
    • Completely harmless, often fades over time
  2. Friction/Pressure Darkening
    • Skin that rubs repeatedly against surfaces darkens over time
    • Common on knuckles and finger joints
    • Seen a lot in people who do manual work
  3. Acanthosis Nigricans (less likely but worth knowing)
    • Dark, velvety patches on skin folds
    • Can be associated with insulin resistance or hormonal changes
    • Usually appears in neck/armpits too, not just hands
  4. Sun Exposure
    • Uneven tanning on the back of the hand is very common
    • The back of the hand gets more sun than the palm
  5. Natural Skin Variation
    • Many people naturally have darker knuckles compared to the rest of the hand - this is completely normal

What You Can Do:
  • Moisturize regularly (shea butter, glycerin-based creams)
  • Use sunscreen on the back of hands
  • Vitamin C or kojic acid creams can help lighten hyperpigmentation over time
See a doctor if: the dark patches are spreading rapidly, feel raised/thick, or are accompanied by other symptoms.
This looks like normal knuckle hyperpigmentation to me - very common and usually harmless. But only a dermatologist can give you a proper diagnosis.

Today I saw it for the first it appears today only

That changes things. If it appeared suddenly today, here are the more relevant possibilities:

Sudden Onset - More Likely Causes:
  1. Bruising (Contusion)
    • Did you bump, hit, or strain your hand today?
    • Blood pools under the skin causing dark patches
    • Can appear hours after impact, even minor ones you barely noticed
  2. Contact with a Staining Substance
    • Ink, dye, grease, chemical, certain foods (berries, turmeric, metal oxidation from the ring?)
    • Try washing the area firmly with soap - if it comes off, it was external staining
  3. Ring-related Reaction
    • Metal rings (especially cheaper alloys) can leave dark marks on skin
    • Oxidation of the metal + sweat = dark staining on skin
    • Very common with stainless steel or silver-toned rings
  4. Localized Vascular Change
    • Sudden dark patches without injury could indicate a localized blood vessel issue
    • Less common but worth watching

What to Do Right Now:
Wash the area with soap and water - if it fades/removes, it's external staining
Check if the ring is leaving marks - remove the ring and see if the dark area is directly under/around it
Think back - any bump, pressure, or contact with substances today?

⚠️ See a doctor promptly if:
  • It is spreading or getting darker
  • There is pain, swelling, or numbness
  • You have no explanation for it at all
  • It doesn't wash off
Since it appeared suddenly with no clear reason, it's best to get it checked by a doctor today or tomorrow rather than waiting. Don't ignore sudden unexplained skin changes.
