"semitendinosus graft" AND "anterior cruciate ligament"

For July-August 2026, I found one directly relevant publication involving semitendinosus/gracilis hamstring autograft in ACL reconstruction:
  1. Wahle et al. (9 August 2026), Patient Outcomes After ACL Reconstruction With Hybrid Allograft Augmentation Compared With Isolated Autografts: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis, Cureus 18(8):e114231.
It includes studies using semitendinosus-gracilis autografts, comparing isolated hamstring autograft with hybrid allograft augmentation. The review reports no consistent reduction in graft failure with hybrid augmentation, and functional outcomes were generally similar or sometimes favored isolated autograft. Read the August 2026 full text.
I did not identify a July 2026 paper specifically focused on primary ACL reconstruction using a semitendinosus-only or semitendinosus-gracilis graft in PubMed/web searches. Some July-August records concern other ligament procedures or combined arthroplasty, rather than isolated semitendinosus ACL graft reconstruction.
Two very recent, highly relevant papers to add even though they are not confirmed as July/August publications:
  • [RCT . Tier 3 . 2026] Lawless et al. A semitendinosus with adjustable button graft construct... DOSTAR randomized controlled trial. Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy. PMID: 40351242. Single semitendinosus graft with adjustable-button fixation showed less hamstring donor-site pain/morbidity and better knee-flexor strength symmetry at 6 months than semitendinosus-gracilis graft with tibial screw fixation, with comparable laxity and hop outcomes. PubMed record
  • [Comparative study . 2026] Ishida et al. Variations in graft maturity between quadriceps tendon and semitendinosus tendon at 6 months after ACL reconstruction: UTE-T2 mapping.* The Knee. PMID: 41421167. In a small retrospective MRI study, quadriceps grafts appeared more mature than semitendinosus grafts in the femoral tunnel at 6 months. PubMed record
For background context, a 2025 network meta-analysis on quadrupled semitendinosus graft preparation is also useful: Malesa et al., PMID 39126286.
