| 1 | Condylar Inclination (C) | The angle of the condylar path relative to the horizontal plane. It is a fixed, patient-determined factor - the clinician cannot alter it. A steeper condylar inclination demands compensating changes in other factors. |
| 2 | Incisal Guidance | The angle formed by the incisal edges of the anterior teeth and the horizontal plane during protrusion. A steep incisal guidance disrupts posterior balance and must be compensated by other factors. |
| 3 | Occlusal Plane Inclination | The orientation of the occlusal plane relative to the ala-tragus line or the horizontal. Tilting the plane affects the geometric balance between the front and back teeth. |
| 4 | Compensating Curve | The anteroposterior (sagittal) and lateral curvature built into the occlusal surfaces of the posterior teeth (analogous to the curve of Spee/Wilson). Increasing the curve compensates for steep condylar or incisal guidance. |
