This is a Positive Pregnancy Test

Brand: Prega News by Mankind (HCG urine test cassette)
What the test shows:
  • C line (Control): One strong, dark line - this confirms the test ran correctly and is valid
  • T line (Test): One faint pink line - this indicates the presence of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), the pregnancy hormone
Result: POSITIVE - Even a faint T line counts as positive. Any visible line in the T window, regardless of how light, means hCG was detected in the urine.

Why the T line might be faint:

  1. Very early pregnancy - hCG levels start low and roughly double every 48-72 hours in early pregnancy, so the line gets darker as pregnancy progresses
  2. Diluted urine - If you drank a lot of fluids beforehand, urine concentration is lower
  3. Test timing - First morning urine gives the strongest result

What to do next:

  1. Retest in 48 hours using first morning urine (first wee after waking) - the line should be darker if pregnancy is progressing normally
  2. See a doctor for confirmation - a blood hCG test is more sensitive and can measure the exact level; a doctor will also help with dating the pregnancy and early antenatal care
  3. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and certain medications in the meantime as a precaution
Congratulations may be in order! Please follow up with a healthcare provider as soon as possible.
