What is Livosis 10 mg?

Livosis 10 mg is a brand of rosuvastatin calcium 10 mg, a statin medication used to lower cholesterol. The normal adult dose is 1 tablet (10 mg) per day.
Taking 10 tablets = 100 mg at once is a significant overdose - 10 times the standard daily dose.

What Would Happen After Taking 100 mg of Rosuvastatin?

Immediate / Short-term Effects

There is no specific "acute overdose syndrome" for rosuvastatin, but high doses intensify its known side effects:
SystemSymptoms

MusclesMuscle pain, tenderness, weakness (myopathy)
LiverElevated liver enzymes, right upper quadrant pain, fatigue
GeneralHeadache, dizziness, extreme fatigue

Serious Risks (Require Emergency Care)

  • Rhabdomyolysis - Massive muscle breakdown. Symptoms: severe muscle pain, extreme weakness, dark/tea-colored urine. This can cause acute kidney failure and can be fatal.
  • Liver damage - Yellowing of eyes/skin (jaundice), dark urine, pale stools.
  • Severe allergic reaction - Lip/throat swelling, breathing difficulty.

What To Do RIGHT NOW

  1. Do NOT wait for symptoms - go to the nearest emergency room or call 112/emergency services immediately.
  2. Tell the doctor exactly: "Took 10 tablets of Livosis 10 mg (rosuvastatin 100 mg) at once."
  3. There is no antidote - hospital treatment is supportive (IV fluids, monitoring kidney/liver/muscle enzymes, CK levels).
  4. The doctor may give activated charcoal if the overdose was very recent (within 1-2 hours).
