APPLICABILITY TO MY PRACTICE Would this population resemble patients in an Indian tertiary-care dermatology OPD? Comment on skin phototype representation, disease severity spectrum, drug availability and cost, and any dosing or monitoring that is impractical in a resource-limited setting. 7. WHERE IT SITS IN THE LITERATURE How does it agree or conflict with existing guidelines (IADVL, AAD, BAD, EDF) and standard texts? If it contradicts prior evidence, preserve the contradiction as a live controversy — do not resolve it arbitrarily. 8. VIVA PEARLS 5-8 crisp, high-yield points an examiner could ask from this paper. 9. EXAM TRAPS The misreadings a candidate is likely to make — misquoted numbers, overstated causality, confusing the primary with a secondary endpoint, generalising beyond the studied population. 10. JOURNAL CLUB SUMMARY Three sentences I could say aloud: what was done, what was found, what it changes. 11. WHAT REMAINS UNANSWERED The single most important next study this paper argues for. HARD RULES - Use only what is actually in the article. If a detail is absent, write "not reported" — never estimate, never fill the gap. - Clearly mark any statement that comes from your background knowledge rather than from this article, e.g. [external context]. - Do not fabricate PMIDs, DOIs, figures, or author names. - Quote numbers exactly as printed, including units and decimal places. - If the paper's own conclusion overstates its data, say so plainly. - No diagrams, flowcharts, or ASCII figures. Prose, headings and tables only. - If I have pasted only an abstract, state that upfront and restrict the appraisal to what an abstract can support.
