DAY 1 - Saturday, July 4

Banja Luka → Mostar

• Distance: ~230 km
• Drive time: ~3.5 to 4 hours (via M-16 and then south through Herzegovina)

• Get a quick drink in the Old Town if energy allows - Stari Most looks magical at night

DAY 2 - Sunday, July 5

Full Day in Mostar

• Stari Most (Old Bridge) - the iconic 16th-century Ottoman arch bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk it, photograph it from both banks
• Kujundžiluk Bazaar - the cobbled old bazaar street right next to the bridge, great for coffee, copper crafts, and Turkish delight
• Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque area / Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque - climb the minaret for a panoramic view of the bridge and the Neretva River

• Watch the bridge divers (Mostar Diving Club) - local men jump 21 meters off the bridge, a tradition since the Ottoman era
• Lunch at a riverside restaurant (try cevapi, burek, or fresh trout)

• Museum of the Old Bridge (Muzej Stari Most) - tells the full story of the bridge's destruction in 1993 and its UNESCO-guided reconstruction
• Crooked Bridge (Kriva Cuprija) - a smaller, older bridge nearby, often missed by tourists
• Wander the west (Croat) side of the city - completely different atmosphere
• Bulevar (War Frontline) - the old dividing line between east and west Mostar, visible ruins and powerful history

• Blagaj Tekija (~12 km southeast of Mostar) - a stunning 16th-century Dervish monastery built into a cliff at the source of the Buna river. Takes about 1.5 hrs round trip

• Sunset from the banks of the Neretva looking at the bridge - the light is incredible at golden hour
• Dinner in Old Town

• Distance: ~120 km
• Drive time: ~2 hours (via M17 through the Neretva valley - scenic even at night)

DAY 3 - Monday, July 6 (FLIGHT DAY)

Sarajevo - Morning Only

• Wake up by 05:30, leave hotel by 06:00 at the latest to allow check-in and security time
• If your hotel is in Baščaršija (Old Town), a taxi takes ~20 min to the airport

• A late-night walk through Baščaršija (the Ottoman bazaar, open late in summer) is absolutely worth it - 20 min on foot, very atmospheric

Key Travel Notes

• Currency: Bosnian Convertible Mark (BAM/KM). Cards are widely accepted but carry some cash for Old Town stalls and small cafes
• Petrol: Fill up before leaving Banja Luka or in Mostar - fuel is slightly cheaper than in Croatia/EU
• Parking in Mostar: Park near Hotel Mostar or the Rondo area and walk into the Old Town (~10 min walk)
• Parking in Sarajevo: Most hotels in the centre have parking or it is very cheap overnight
