You have Soothex Gargle (Benzydamine Mouthwash BP 0.15%) - a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory gargle. It works locally on the inflamed throat tissue - it does NOT treat the infection itself (you likely need an antibiotic for that, prescribed by a doctor), but it will significantly relieve throat pain and inflammation from tonsillitis.
How to Use Soothex Gargle
Step-by-step
- Measure 15 ml - use the cap or measuring cup provided (fill to the 15 ml mark)
- Tilt your head back and gargle the liquid at the back of your throat
- Gargle for 20-30 seconds - make sure it reaches your tonsils
- Spit it out completely - do NOT swallow it
- Wash the measuring cup after each use
Dosage
- Adults & teens 13+: 15 ml every 1.5 to 3 hours, as needed for pain relief
- Children under 13: Not recommended
Important tips
- If it causes a stinging/burning sensation, dilute it with an equal amount of lukewarm water before gargling
- Do not use continuously for more than 7 days without a doctor's advice
- Do not eat or drink immediately after - give it a few minutes to work
- Use it before meals if swallowing is painful - it will numb the throat slightly

Can i drink water immediately after gargling with it
It's best to wait at least 30 minutes before drinking water after gargling with Benzydamine mouthwash.

- Drinking water immediately will wash it away before it can work properly
