American Heart Association ECG symptoms emergency chest pain seek emergency care

The ECG machine interpretation reads:
  • Normal sinus rhythm
  • Normal cardiac electrical axis
  • Heart rate appears to be about 86 beats/min
  • It also states: “Report needs physician confirmation.”
From this photograph, I do not see an obvious dangerous rhythm problem or clear acute ST-segment pattern. So it appears broadly normal, but a photo cannot replace a clinician reviewing the original tracing alongside your symptoms and medical history.
Seek urgent/emergency care now if this ECG was done because of chest pressure/pain, shortness of breath, fainting, severe sweating, nausea, or new/worsening palpitations, even if the ECG looks normal. The American Heart Association guidance advises treating these symptoms urgently.
