American Heart Association ECG interpretation rate rhythm intervals axis guidance

ECG interpretation, limited by photo quality and baseline artifact:
  • Rhythm: Regular sinus rhythm, approximately 100 bpm. P waves appear to precede each QRS complex.
  • Axis: Normal, printed QRS axis about +30°.
  • Intervals: PR about 98 ms (short-normal), QRS 92 ms (narrow), QTc about 451 ms (borderline prolonged depending on sex and clinical context).
  • Chamber features: Possible left atrial enlargement by automated interpretation. This needs clinical/echo correlation and is not certain from this image.
  • ST-T segments: No convincing acute ST-segment elevation, significant ST depression, or clear acute ischemic T-wave pattern.
  • Other: Considerable baseline/muscle artifact, especially in limb leads, reduces confidence. No obvious bundle branch block or dangerous wide-complex arrhythmia.
Impression: Sinus tachycardia or high-normal sinus rate with possible left atrial enlargement. No clear acute ischemic ECG changes visible on this tracing.
If there is chest pain, breathlessness, fainting, palpitations, or sweating, seek urgent in-person assessment and a repeat clean 12-lead ECG. Standard ECG interpretation includes review of rhythm, intervals, axis, and ST-T changes, as outlined in AHA ECG recommendations.
