Do you mean a swollen lymph node (lump/gland), or lymph-node cancer/spread of cancer?

Treatment depends entirely on the cause. Many swollen nodes from a throat, dental, skin, or other infection settle after the underlying problem resolves. Do not start antibiotics or try to squeeze/massage a lump without an examination.

Seek urgent medical assessment if a node is rapidly enlarging, hard/fixed, above the collarbone, lasts more than 2 to 4 weeks, or occurs with unexplained fever, night sweats, weight loss, breathing difficulty, or trouble swallowing.
