NHS emergency contraception levonorgestrel next period delayed pregnancy test

If her bleeding started on 9 September and her usual cycle is 30 days, her next period would be expected around 9 October.
An i-pill (levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive) can make the next period come a few days early or late, and spotting after taking it may not be a true period.
  • If her period is more than 7 days late, do a home urine pregnancy test.
  • Also test 3 weeks after the unprotected sex, regardless of bleeding.
  • Seek medical care urgently for severe lower abdominal pain, fainting, or unusually heavy bleeding.
If you tell me the date of unprotected sex and the date she took i-pill, I can help calculate the best date for a pregnancy test.
