ACR chest radiograph interpretation limitations patient information
I can give a non-diagnostic visual impression of this single frontal chest X-ray:
Heart size appears within normal limits.
No obvious focal air-space opacity to suggest lobar pneumonia.
No visible pleural fluid or pneumothorax.
No obvious acute bony abnormality in the portion shown.
Mild diffuse/basal bronchovascular-interstitial prominence may be present, but this can be nonspecific and should be interpreted with symptoms and the official report.
Overall: no clear acute cardiopulmonary abnormality is apparent on this photograph of the X-ray.
A photographed image is not a substitute for the original study and radiologist's report. If there is chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, coughing blood, low oxygen level, or worsening symptoms, seek urgent medical care.
