1. Skin
The skin over the abdominal wall is thin, mobile, and loosely attached except at the umbilicus, where it is firmly bound to the underlying scar tissue. The umbilicus is situated at approximately the level of the L3-L4 intervertebral disc (corresponding to the T10 dermatome).
2. Superficial Fascia (Subcutaneous Tissue)

External Oblique
- The most superficial of the three flat muscles
- Muscle fibers run in an inferomedial direction (like hands in pockets)
