Becasul in Oral Blisters / Mouth Ulcers - Yes, It Is Used

Yes, - Becasul is indicated and commonly prescribed for oral blisters and mouth ulcers. In fact, stomatitis and glossitis (inflammation of the mouth lining and tongue) are explicitly listed in the official Pfizer prescribing information as indications for Becosules.

Why Becasul Works for Oral Ulcers

Mouth ulcers/blisters are frequently caused by or worsened by B-vitamin deficiencies. Here is how specific components of Becasul help:
VitaminRole in Oral Health
B2 (Riboflavin)Deficiency directly causes cheilosis, glossitis, angular stomatitis
B3 (Niacinamide)Deficiency causes pellagrous stomatitis and glossitis
B6 (Pyridoxine)Supports mucosal integrity and immune function
B9 (Folic Acid)Deficiency is a well-known cause of recurrent aphthous ulcers
B12 (Cobalamin)Deficiency linked to recurrent oral ulcers and burning mouth
Vitamin CPromotes tissue repair, wound healing, and mucosal immunity

Clinical Conditions Where Becasul Is Useful

  1. Recurrent Aphthous Ulcers (canker sores) - especially when nutritional deficiency is the underlying trigger
  2. Stomatitis (general mouth inflammation)
  3. Angular cheilitis (cracked corners of the mouth)
  4. Glossitis (inflamed, sore tongue)
  5. Cheilosis (dry, cracked lips)
  6. Oral ulcers from poor diet, alcoholism, prolonged antibiotic use
  7. Oral ulcers during pregnancy/lactation (increased nutritional demands)

Important Points

  • Becasul treats the underlying deficiency - it will be most effective when the ulcers are due to B-vitamin or Vitamin C deficiency.
  • If ulcers are from other causes (trauma, autoimmune disease, infections like herpes), Becasul alone is not sufficient - it should be used as an adjunct alongside targeted therapy.
  • Dose: 1 capsule daily after meals.
  • If ulcers do not resolve with Becasul in 1-2 weeks, further evaluation for other causes is warranted.
As also noted in the 1mg product listing, Becosules is specifically marketed "for mouth ulcers" in India.
